Relationality, networking, connectivity are notions that have started to shape our everyday life…

All these conditions affect the nature of the architectural project, its conception, procurement, construction and use but also it shape, materiality and aesthetics. How do they change the way we practice architecture and what is ‘relational architecture’?

The French art critic N. Bouriaud speaks about ‘relational aesthetics’ that consist in judging artworks on the basis of the inter-human relations which they represent, produce or prompt. Could we judge the quality of architecture in terms of the model of sociability it creates?

This year we look at Brussels, a city which acts internationally as administrative capital of Europe, but also experiments at a local level with new types of urban practices.
